ASSISTANT PROJECT COORDINATOR INTERSECTION
Workplace: Djibouti
Duration of work: 12-month fixed term contract with possibility of extension
RESPONSIBILITIES:
These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Assist the Project Coordinator in improving the organization's understanding of the humanitarian situation and any issues that may impact MSF's humanitarian operations.
•Assist the Intersectional Coordinator in drafting correspondence with authorities and counterparts (government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, etc.) to ensure smooth and accurate communication flows
•Assist the Intersectional Coordinator in internal and external communication sessions and events about MSF (for the national team as well as local authorities) in order to improve public awareness and buy-in.
•Ensures continuity of relations with local actors and government authorities and maintains regularly updated contact lists.
•Organize contacts and advocacy appointments for the Intersectional Coordinator with local authorities and partners to ensure continuity of relations with local actors and involved counterparts.
•Execute clerical related activities as well as prepare and conduct project briefings to new staff to facilitate their integration on board and into the project environment.
•Translate documents and act as an interpreter when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education: University degree in political science/international relations and/or law and/or journalism/linguistics and/or development studies.
Experience:
- Essential professional experience of at least two years in relevant and similar jobs.
- Experience working in humanitarian assistance with MSF or other NGOs is desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French and English (essential).
Additional languages (Arabic, Somali...) are a plus.
Knowledge: Computer skills essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
