Job Description

Reports to: Logistic Officer
Supervision of: N/A
Duty station: Obock
Travel: With frequent travel to all field locations in Djibouti and Ali-Sabieh)

Duration and type of contract: 1 year (with possible extension-fixed term)

1.Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the CC project. Use actions words such as conduct or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.
Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
1.Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
2.Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
3.Ensure proper filing of documents
4.Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
1.Ensure the Transport of personnel and visitors to NRC for their displacements during the service and mission in the field
2.Make sure that signed vehicle has all proper document’s like necessary equipment ,including insurance of vehicles ,permits , first aid kit parts spare and tools …etc
3.Ensuring the collection of written communication and other items from outside NRC.
4.Ensuring that staff Of NRC are driven safety to their respective destinations ,with carefully driven them to city and upcountry location
5.Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
6.To Maintain the vehicle of function good working condition at any time , including the Provision ,at appropriate time.
7.Comply with Vehicle driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designation, Parking and break periods) as well as with NRC policies and Procedures.
8. Ensure the Vehicle it is clean and has necessary spare parts and tools
9.Update the logbook of the vehicle for all travel.
10.Ensure to have the authorization permission and records are prepared waiver forms.
11.Immediately report events such as accidents and breakdowns.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Certificate of secondary school
Proven work experience as a truck driver
Adaptability and foreign to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
Valid truck driving license
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
2. Behavioral competencies (max 6)
These are personal qualities that influence how successful people are in their job. NRC’s Competency Framework states 12 behavioural competencies and the following are essential for this position:
