A Service Advisor acts as the main link between customers and the workshop, ensuring a smooth and professional service experience. are responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their vehicle concerns, and accurately recording all service or repair requests. The advisor prepares and manages job cards, coordinates with technicians to schedule and monitor repair progress, and keeps customers informed throughout the process. and also explain repair details, costs, and invoices clearly to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction. In addition to handling administrative tasks such as warranty claims and service records, a service advisor promotes preventive maintenance, additional services, and special offers to enhance customer value and increase sales. the role requires strong communication, technical understanding, and customer service skills to build trust, maintain long-term relationships, and contribute to the overall performance of the service department.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Basic training in customer service.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, and repair processes.
- Experience using DMS (Dealer Management Systems) or other service management software.
- 2 years of hands-on experience in customer service/ aftersales operation
- Exposure to aftersales workshop operation , customer service operation
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
- Good technical understanding to interpret customer concerns and translate them into repair orders.
- Time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant dealership software.
- Basic sales skills for upselling services or accessories.
